The Oticon Companion App is a brand new app that will replace the Oticon Remote Care App as of Feb 13, 2023. Unlike the Oticon ON App, which shares some features with the Oticon Companion App, the Companion App offers unique features such as the Speech Booster, Remote Care, battery level and troubleshooting for connectivity issues. Some features, such as advanced tinnitus sound support, Hearing Fitness feature and IFTTT feature, are only available in the Oticon ON App. In addition, remote fitting is only available through the Oticon Companion App and is no longer available through the Oticon RemoteCare App. However, existing RemoteCare customer accounts can still be used

The Oticon-On app allows remote control of compatible hearing aids. It is available for Apple and Android. This allows you to use your smartphone to switch between hearing programs, monitor the battery level, and adjust the volume. One particularly handy feature of the app: if you've lost your hearing aid, the app can help you find it.
The functions of the app for Android and Apple are almost identical. Nevertheless, with the IOS version, you have additional features such as the external microphone. Also, some Windows phones are not supported and therefore cannot be connected to hearing aids.
You can download the app for free from the App Store or Google Playstore. If you need an older version than currently offered, you have the option to download and install the Oticon app installation file. It is also possible to use the demo version without hearing aids to see if you also like the app and want to use it. It is possible to connect to the hearing aids even if you are not in the immediate vicinity. The range for a possible connection is 10 meters, regardless of what environment you are in.
These are the benefits of the Oticon app
The Oticon app gives you several ways to customize your hearing aid. It allows you to discreetly adjust the volume of your hearing aids, and you decide if you want to adjust the volume for each hearing aid separately. In addition, you can also use the app when you want to change the hearing program.
Furthermore, you can also use the app to keep track of the charge level of batteries or batteries in your hearing aids. You can also set your app to display a notification when your hearing aid's battery or rechargeable battery is low. Then, don't forget to charge your hearing aid in time when it runs out.
Are you having trouble with tinnitus? The Tinnitus SoundSupport feature assists you with sounds that can temporarily relieve sufferers of their symptoms. To use this feature, however, you must first have it activated by your hearing care professional. To do so, simply contact your personal acoustician.
ITTP or the Internet of Things. ITTP requires you to create an account with Oticon. Once you create an account, you can control their Internet-connected devices through the hearing device and have notifications sent to you. For example, when someone is at the front door or the washing machine has finished the wash.
You'll need an Oticon TV adapter if you want to stream sounds from your TV to your hearing aids. The Oticon ON app gives you the ability to control the volume of the sound you stream and manage external ambient noise. You can use multiple TV adapters to stream sound on different TVs. The app lets you control and name each of your connections. This allows you to switch between the different devices when you want to watch TV in a different room, for example.
Pairing Oticon hearing aids with iPhone
Oticon Bluetooth hearing aids are Made For iPhone (MFI) hearing aids, which means they pair easily with your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. You can then transfer sounds directly from your phone to your hearing instruments and control your hearing instruments from your app.
*Steps may vary depending on the iOS version installed on your device
- Go to Settings on your phone's home screen. Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
- Scroll down a bit, then select Accessibility aids.
- Select Hearing systems from the options in the menu.
- At this time, restart your hearing instruments and place them near your device. They will remain in pairing mode for approximately 3 minutes.
- Once they are recognized by your phone, tap the name of the Oticon hearing instrument you want to pair and confirm the pairing in the pop-up window. If you want to pair more than one hearing instrument, repeat this step for the second hearing instrument.
- Once the devices are paired, download the Oticon app from the App Store. After installing and opening the app, your paired hearing instruments will be automatically detected and you will have full control
Pairing Oticon hearing aids with Android
You can pair your Oticon Bluetooth hearing instruments with your Android device via the Oticon app. You can then control your hearing instruments from your phone's display. If you have hearing aids and a phone that supports audio streaming for hearing aids (ASHA), you can stream audio directly from your device to your hearing aids.
- Download the Oticon app from the Google Play Store and open it on your device.
- Make sure your phone allows Bluetooth.
- Enter the location permission for the app (required for Bluetooth to work).
- Restart the hearing aids and bring them near your phone. They will remain in pairing mode for about 3 minutes.
- After detection, the name of your hearing instruments will be displayed on the screen. Select pairing.
- Wait until the app connects to your hearing instruments. When prompted, allow your device to connect to your hearing instruments. Once the hearing instruments are connected, press Next.
Oticon compatibility
The Oticon app is basically compatible with all major smartphones with a few exceptions. When installing, check that your phone has all the latest updates. For Android smartphones, compatibility depends on the particular model and Android software. If you connect the app to a new device and have already used it, unconnect the old device first. This will help you avoid confusion with the different devices.
